Personal profile ::
I was born to coach, of that I have no doubt. It was in the year 2000 that I became aware of the profession of coaching, through the book Natural Born Winners by Robin Sieger, and that the profession was alive and flourishing here in the UK.
Prior to that, I had built a successful career in the environmental sector, working first in consultancy and then managing a business on behalf of a leading waste company. I was an expert in my field, built a very profitable business - growing several hundred percent in my time there – and largely enjoyed it along the way. But something was missing. Managing a small team gave me the opportunity to develop and enable others, and to develop my skills in business structures and systems, which was great, but once I discovered I could earn a living by enabling others to realise their potential, I knew there would be only one outcome – me working full time as a coach.
I started re-training with leading coach training provider Coach U in January 2002 and graduated in February 2004. I started coaching part time in April 2002 and then had the opportunity to do some work with Coach U in the summer of 2002. So since then I have been operating a coaching business alongside the work I do with Coach U.
During 2002, I discovered the topic that fired me up – and that has become Painless Business. So, to my clients I bring some business experience, particularly in structures and people-friendly systems, but mainly an in-built desire to see them realise their potential, coupled with my certain brand of humour.
‘Smile and the world smiles with you’ underpins my approach to life – I believe I am only here once and I intend to enjoy it!
Alongside my coaching business, I am involved with the local community here in gorgeous South Oxfordshire, I am in the process of renovating my Edwardian house (with some professional assistance) and I have a lovely wife, Bev. Our passion is travel and we have been lucky enough to see and feel some of the spectacular opportunities this earth has to offer. And the list of places to go just gets longer……
